Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SMB IT Support (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit smbit.support (the “Site”), contact us, or use our forms, calendar, chat, or messaging. We keep this plain-English on purpose. By using the Site or submitting information to us, you agree to this Policy.

Who we are

SMB IT Support is a trading name of AI Cyber Experts LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are a managed IT and cybersecurity provider based in Durham, North Carolina, serving small and mid-sized businesses. For any privacy question, contact hello@smbit.support.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you book a consult, request a quote, take the IT Health Check, use chat, subscribe, or email us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, business name, job title, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your IT environment and needs.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard technical data such as your IP address, approximate location, browser type, device information, referring source, pages viewed, and interactions, using cookies, pixels, session-replay, and similar technologies.

Information from third parties. We may receive information from our service providers (for example, our CRM, analytics, or advertising partners) to help us understand engagement and improve our services.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries, schedule consultations, and provide the information you request.
  • To provide, quote, scope, and manage our services and our relationship with you.
  • To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and understand how it is used.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
  • To send you information you have requested and, only where permitted, occasional marketing you can opt out of at any time.

Text messages and calls (SMS/TCPA)

If you provide your phone number and check a consent box, you agree that we may contact you by phone call and text message (SMS) at that number, including through automated or assisted technology, about your enquiry, your consultation, and — where you have separately opted in — marketing. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about a service you have requested. We handle SMS consent in line with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable rules; mobile opt-in data is not shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking

We use essential cookies to make the Site work and analytics and measurement tools to understand usage and improve performance, which may set their own cookies or identifiers. These include Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity (which may record page interactions and session replays in aggregated, pseudonymised form), and our CRM’s website-tracking script (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector). You can control cookies through your browser settings, and disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality. Because tracking technologies do not yet respond uniformly to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not currently respond to them; where required, we honour recognised opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

How we share information

We share information only as described here: with service providers and processors that help us run our business under agreements requiring them to protect it; where you direct us to; to comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests; to protect our rights, safety, property, or that of others; and in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger, financing, or acquisition), subject to this Policy. Our providers include our CRM, booking, chat, and messaging platform (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector), analytics providers (Google, Microsoft), our content-delivery and security provider (Cloudflare), and our web host.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements — after which we delete, de-identify, or anonymise it.

Data security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organisational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials you use with us confidential. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any regulators as required by applicable law.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to opt out of certain processing, targeted advertising, or “sales” or “sharing”; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may exercise these rights, and may use an authorised agent where permitted. To make a request, email hello@smbit.support with enough detail for us to verify your identity and locate your information. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message.

Where your information is processed

We and our service providers are located in the United States, and your information will be processed there. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

Third-party sites and tools

The Site may link to, or embed tools from, third parties (such as scheduling, chat, forms, or maps). Their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review them.

Children’s privacy

Our Site and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date, and material changes may be highlighted or otherwise communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
